Mr. Groarke, better known to the Firm’s clients and friends as “Jack”, has worked for the Firm for thirty-two years. In October 1992, at age 19, he was hired by the firm as an office clerk while attended college. He received his B.A. from Stony Brook University in May 1996 and was promoted to Paralegal. In 1998, Mr. Groarke began law school and was promoted to a research law clerk position at the firm. Mr. Groarke graduated from Hofstra University School of Law in 2001 and joined the Firm as an Associate. Mr. Groarke was promoted to non-equity partner in 2009 and became an equity partner on January 1, 2012. Mr. Groarke’s experience includes representing building and construction trade unions, food and commercial workers, Taft-Hartley employee benefit funds and apprentice training programs. He was admitted to practice law in New York in January 2002 and New Jersey in November 2001. Mr. Groarke is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District of New Jersey.

He is primarily engaged in the Firm’s litigation practice.

Mr. Groarke maintains professional membership with the Union Lawyers Alliance (formerly AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee), American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Group), New York State Bar Association (Labor and Employment Section), and International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Mr. Groarke regularly attends professional conferences to continue his education related to the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefit practice. Mr. Groarke has also been a presenter at building trades conferences and shop stewards’ seminars were he has spoken on topics related to contract grievances, arbitration, duty of fair representation and fiduciary duty in retirement plan investments.
Mr. Groarke’s professional success is matched by his commitment to service and charity. For the past five (5) years, Mr. Groarke has been a Board member of the St. Agnes Fathers Club, first serving as the Treasurer and more recently as the President, where he was responsible for fundraising, engaging parents in the school community and bettering the education of children in the School. Mr. Groarke continues to serve on multiple charity golf outing committees and a college scholarship selection committee.
