Garrett J. Dowd

Garrett has provided counsel on virtually every kind of ERISA, employee benefit plan and employee compensation arrangement, and advised union leadership, Taft-Hartley trustees and others on collective bargaining agreement and multi-employer plan matters, including employer contribution and withdrawal liability issues, union certification campaigns, multiemployer plan questions (and other union issues) arising in connection with mergers and acquisitions, asset sale successorship and partial and mass withdrawal matters, and ERISA plan investment and plan fiduciary rules. He is also experienced in a similarly broad range of employment laws, including the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, WARN, USERRA, FLSA, ADEA, ADA, and similar Federal and State employment laws, and has regularly dealt with government regulatory agencies, including Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service, Health and Human Services, and the Securities and Exchange Commission, among others. He has drafted and reviewed scores of employment, severance, reductions-in-force, nondisclosure, and other contracts and arrangements.
